Listening – Session 1 – Overview about types of questions
IELTSwithHuyen October 19, 2023
There are 2 types of questions in the IELTS Listening exam, Detailing and Summarizing. These types can appear in different forms, such as completion questions, multiple-choice questions, and matching questions. It is important to understand each type of question so that you can identify what information you need to answer the questions. It is also worth noting that the types of questions you will get in your actual IELTS Listening test may vary depending on the contexts of the recordings.
To understand the questions and answer them, you need to know what information is needed to answer the questions. IELTS Listening requires you to listen to the information and give answers to the questions when listening. There is no time to think or no second play to check the answers.
This Session explains in depth all types of IELTS Listening questions, how to manage them, and how to enhance skills for each type. For common mistakes, see Common Mistakes 1 and Common Mistakes 2.
