Some people believe that children who commit crimes should be punished. Others think the parents should be punished instead. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

So when a child commits a crime, it proves that parents are neglecting these responsibilities, hence they contribute to the child’s involvement in crime and should also receive punishments according to the severity of the crime.

➤ Main idea: The legal system should hold both children and parents accountable within a framework that considers the age and circumstances of the child.
➤ Supporting ideas: Implementing appropriate punitive measures for children while also addressing parental responsibility through education or support programs can be effective in reducing juvenile crime.
